Too Busy...

Well, my goal for this blog has not been reached.... YET!  I have been appointed as the (volunteer) Shop Manager of a Thrift Shop.  This store supports the local humane society so I am really excited about it.  I have lots of ideas and have been working very hard on this.  Problem is, I haven't had time to blog.

My etsy store, GIFTedCROCHET, has been very slow which is rather depressing.  Hopefully with the colder weather coming, things will pick up some.  Crochet is a winter "sport", so to speak!

I will be placing a wonderful afghan for sale shortly.  It was made  earlier in the year, and entered into a country fair in which I won a Second Place Ribbon - YAY!  This is a heart shaped afghan with a fleece backing.  Someone will be very happy with this afghan.  It will be a happy day when I can send this afghan to someone to enjoy.

MY VERY FIRST BLOG

Here I am, a middle aged, unemployed woman living in a new state for the very first time away from family.  I am learning to live a new life here and love my house and property.  My two dogs, Reese and Amber, are dachshunds (overweight minis) who keep me very busy.

My grandmother taught me to crochet when I was young.   Of course, at the time I learned I wasn't that interested in crochet.  But I have picked it up off and on since then and have been crocheting pretty steady for the last two years. 

I recently started a shop on ETSY.COM ( go see!) and am trying to make it successful.  Who would have imagined that I would be trying to run my own business!  It is challenging and definitely has a learning curve.

My goal is to post a couple of times a week and share my experience with my shop, crocheting, my dogs and other interesting little tidbits of information that may come to mind.  Have a great nite.
